Birth, marriage, and death registers generally followed the same style within a given community or region. Typically, registers were maintained by the rabbi in those communities that could afford one. Sandy; son William (“Trey”), daughter Courtney and stepson Gary; six grandchildren; and sisters Carol and Catherine. Henry Stuhr Inc., Charleston, South Carolina, died September 4, 2022, at age 63. He is survived by wife Sarah; children Steve, Don, Jamie and Jennifer; three grandsons; a granddaughter; and a brother. Newnam is survived by his wife, the former Susan L. Hill, whom he married in 1968; a daughter, Michelle L. Lowrey and her husband, Alan, and their four children, Aiden, Suzanna, Elaina and Lucas; a son, Maurice E. “Mo” Newnam IV, his wife, Lora, and three sons, Maurice E.

The earliest civil records for Jews of southern Germany appear towards the end of the 18th century. Prior to this time, only tax records, property lists, and court records documented the presence of individual Jews. Jewish family books exist for the first half of the 19th century. Separate Jewish civil records were kept up to about 1876. After that time, vital records for Gentiles and Jews were kept jointly.
At different times, the same person may have been recorded either as Levi or as Levy. The same is true of Cohn, Cohen, and Kahn; Schnaddicher and Schnaittacher, and Buttenwieser and Buddewiser are used interchangeably. In the second half of the 19th century, the desire for assimilation led some German Jews to change their given names from biblical or other, typically Jewish names to names they regarded as more elegant alternatives. Sometimes the old and new names alliterated, but often they did not. While in high school and college, she taught an afterschool program at a daycare where her love of children and teaching was first realized. After becoming a nurse, Kelly worked for several years as an RN, first in La Junta, Colorado, and then in the Denver Metro area.

In 2016, Kelly and Mike moved to her mother’s hometown, Liberal, Kansas where she spent many summers as a kid. Mike worked for the Brenneman’s at the funeral home and Kelly returned to her love of teaching working at the Colvin Adult Learning Center where she taught the adult GED program. In 2017, Kelly and Mike purchased the funeral home and she went to work full time helping Mike and her Dad run the family business.
Coleman is survived by sons Eugene and David, daughter Rosanne, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Died peacefully October 8 at age 66 surrounded by family at home in Wayne, New Jersey, after a courageous four-year battle with ovarian cancer.
