We’re transported to something that was going on for us when we were a baby, or some memory of some other time. Last week, we explored Hexagram 28 in the Human Design Chart, which showed us how to play the game of life. It’s about instinct and cellular memory, and immediately following the threads of alertness to reveal a whole tapestry of patterns and intentions. With Gate 44, you have the gift of intuitive recall and evaluation of successes and failures to make decisions to succeed in the future, survive more wisely, and ultimately thrive. And in the cases where revisiting the past is helpful, it must be done with compassion (human design gate 36), forgiveness (human design gate 4), and Grace (human design gate 22). True to gate 24 in my unconscious south node, I have also been someone who ruminates in the past and have had paralyzing fears of repeating the same mistakes.

A hexagram is made up of six horizontal lines (hex means six), and the lines of the hexagram are either broken (yin), or solid (yang). Each of the Human Design Gates correspond to just under six astrological degrees and the exact degree determines the line the gate is in. They can help you “raise your frequency” with specific practices and tools unique to that archetype.

It’s important for these individuals to remember that it’s okay to ask for help and to share leadership responsibilities with others. Furthermore, those with Gate 44 often have an innate understanding of timing and cycles. They understand that life operates in cycles, and they can sense when a cycle is coming to a close and a new one is about to begin.
Every gate energy belongs to particular circuitry within the chart, which is like an electrical circuit board. You have an instinctive nose for other people’s gifts and talents and are a natural-born human resource manager. For much of my life, I made almost everything in life mean that life was meaningless and that I had no purpose.
There can be a tendency to get caught up in other people’s egos and to go along with other people’s agendas. Traditionally, the 44 is called “Coming to Meet.” Notice it’s not going to meet; it’s coming to meet. And in that coming together, there’s an internal recognition of what it is in life, or who it is in life, that’s approaching you. It’s about this very quick recognition of a changing situation or somebody else’s motivations. Maybe their gifts, maybe their talents, maybe their intentions for you, maybe their agendas.
For each gate, we’ll cover the circuitry of the gate, its gifts and challenges, its “fear,” and practical ways to apply this information. It serves as a constant reminder that while history is essential, it’s the choices we make in the present, informed by the past, that truly shape the future. Embracing Gate 44 has empowered me to become someone who can blend the wisdom of the past with the promise of the future. I’ve grown fond of identifying patterns, not to trap myself in them, but to understand and optimize them in order to create my desired future. I would often get trapped in past habits or get overly concerned about repeating past mistakes, not just in my life but in the lives of those around me.

But, the most important thing to raise the frequency of gate 44 is to be curious and compassionate about the mistakes you’ve made in the past and see what you can learn from them.
